Road work starts Aug. 13; roofers won't have access

Phase 1 of the 2024 Pecan Plantation road construction and repaving project is slated begin Tuesday (Aug. 13) according to Daniel Van Patten, PPOA operations manager.

“If you are in these areas and your roof is scheduled for replacement during this time, we ask that you delay your roof until this first phase is done; your roofers will not be able to access your property in the road work area,” Van Patten said.

Save the date for 2 events

Mark your calendars for two upcoming PPCC events. The Labor Day Street Dance will be taking place Saturday, Aug. 31 with a pool party on Monday, Sept. 2. Additionally, the dining and entertainment extravaganza "Around the World at Pecan" will be returning Saturday, Oct. 5.

Pet of the Week

Meet Roma "Bear," Pecan Plantation's Pet of the Week! She is a super sweet and feisty cat belonging to Cole, Erin and Philip Mayeux.

This week, Executive Chef Jordan Ray's specials include an Asian inspired salmon dish and some good old fashioned surf and turf.

First up is a ginger curried salmon filet with creamy and delicious miso butter served on top of a fried rice cake. The fish is finished exquisitely with a crispy seaweed salad.

Ray's second special is a combination of a 6-ounce filet and one of his award-winning crab cakes. It is served with hollandaise sauce, a baked potato and grilled asparagus.
