Your Impact: Academic Trips
Learning Beyond City Limits
Bringing Text to Context Through Academic Trips
Whether it’s crossing the bay by foot at Mont-St.-Michel, learning the secrets to baking with nuns in the Basque Country, or walking along a path to the grotto where Tiberius would have entertained guests … one thing is certain: these are the moments that make the SYA experience magical. Academic trips have a greater impact on our students’ ability to live what they are learning by discovering other parts of their host country under the guidance and expertise of their teachers, bringing text to context.
Because Philanthropy Really Matters
Our donor impact report, Philanthropy Matters, features messages from SYA President Tom Hassan and Board Chair Holland Goss Lynch FR'86 while highlighting just a few of the ways your support has made an impact on our campuses.
Last month we put out a call for alumni with careers in international affairs in the public, private or non-profit/NGO sector. (There's still time to add your works to the compilation.)
Calling all alumni with careers in the arts and entertainment fields!
Let us know where we can find you and be included in the January issue. Know an alum who works in one of these areas? Submit their info in case they miss seeing this!
Admissions Update: Application Deadline!
The admissions team had a great fall traveling around the country and hosting virtual information sessions for future SYAers. The application deadline, February 10, is fast approaching. If you know a student who should apply, send them this recording so they can learn more about our programs.
In "Evenings and Art," SYA France storyteller Hope, a junior from Charlotte Latin School, writes about how much she looks forward to her weekly art class.
