Friend,

We kicked off 2021 with an AWESOME "Polar Bear" weekend at Clearwater Cove, taking 47 of our high school friends and their leaders! This is the first camp that we have been able to take kids to since Polar Bear Weekend last January. Even with "cabin families," masks, and social distancing from other cabins, we had SO much fun escaping for the weekend. There's nothing quite like a Young Life camp!
Several of our friends expressed how much they needed that weekend away and what a significant impact it had on them. One senior from Har-Ber High School said he had been wanting to go to Polar Bear Weekend for the last 2 years, but this was the first time he was able to go. He told his leader that he "had a real encounter with Jesus this week and things feel different now."
Another student from Bentonville High School said "Thank you so much again. This camp really changed my outlook on life and what I want to be and where I want to go."
This semester, many of the kids that went to camp will be meeting with their leaders weekly in a Campaigner group to explore a relationship with Jesus even more! We are so excited to walk alongside them as they grow in their faith.
YoungLives Update
Welcome Inger Nelson!

More than 20 years ago, Young Life answered God’s call to run headfirst into the lives of teenage moms with the hope of Jesus ... and YoungLives was born. YoungLives exists to reach teen moms by entering their world, modeling the unconditional love of Christ, an encouraging them to become the women and mothers God created them to be. Through Young Life’s time-tested methods and life-on-life mentoring, teen moms are empowered to make positive choices, set and achieve goals, and live a future rooted in Christ.

Inger Nelson is currently in the process of coming on board as part-time staff here in NWA to oversee our YoungLives ministry! Here's a little bit of Inger's story in her own words:

"I fell in love with the YoungLives ministry Summer 2015 while working at a group home for teen moms in Springdale. The girls and their babies went to YL camp in Buckner, TX. Their time at camp absolutely transformed them. When I left that job, I still had a desire to work with pregnant teens, so I signed up to become a mentor mom for YoungLives.

Earlier this year, I began to pray about working with YoungLives. I felt the Lord leading me to come on as staff because I would like to become more involved in seeing teen moms experience the love of Christ and enjoy some fun things they often miss out on because their responsibility as a mom is so heavy. I am looking forward to working with the teens and college leaders who come alone alongside the young moms to do life with them. I am confident it will only help me to understand His love for us more fully.”

Inger is almost finished with fundraising with just $6,000 left to go! If you would like to join her support team, you can donate at the link below.

On the home front, Gregg and I enjoyed spending time with all of our grandchildren over the holidays (and of course our adult children!) I am eagerly anticipating how Jesus will move in and through us in 2021. Psalm 147:11 says, "The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their trust in his unfailing love." May you experience his great delight in you!
I am so grateful for you. I pray the Lord's blessings over you and your family in 2021! Thank you for partnering with me and with NWA Young Life to help us bring the Gospel to the next generation!
God's Best,
