ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
As a native of Toronto, Helen Paryniuk has pursued several creative avenues. Her passion for photography, travel & exploration began developing in very early years.  By the age of 6 she was already intrigued by nature, wildlife, archeology & ancient cultures.  Such publications as National Geographic and TV programs like Wild Animal Kingdom captured her curiosity and helped ignite her innate, adventurous spirit.

After completing full-time studies in interior design and art history, Helen began exploring the world with her camera & a backpack, recording her experiences through photographic images.  Immersing herself in foreign lands & cultures, her love of travel and exploration frequently led her off the beaten path, along journeys abroad for months at a time.  To date, her adventures have taken her to approx. 60 countries, spanning 5 continents.

Helen photographs a variety of subject matter that include the genres of street photography, nature, wildlife, cultural events, travel experiences, everyday people, architecture and archeology.

Her more recent adventures have included exploring the rich, ancient cultures in Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia & Hong Kong, her ancestry in Ukraine & Eastern Europe, nature & wildlife in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama & the Everglades in Florida as well as Carnival in Aruba and Mardi Gras in New Orleans.  Since 2010 she has been organizing & leading small-group photo adventures in various places within North and Central America.

Between 2010-2013 she had participated annually in AxD, Art By Designers exhibition at the Denison Gallery, where she showcased some of her photography.  She was part of “Toronto in the Spring Time”, a group photography exhibition that explored quintessential Toronto.  She also exhibited some of her photography in Costa Rica in an exhibition called “The Wilds of OSA, Costa Rica”, which focused on wildlife & nature photography.

Helen Paryniuk currently owns a company called 4SITE Design that focuses on commercial interior design & photography.  She continues to organize new adventures which are designed for people who have an interest in photography & authentically exploring different areas of the world. Come join her in an upcoming trip to Guatemala (April/May 2015) and look out for other adventures in the near future.
