Friends,
As we start 2017, I want to celebrate with you some of the things the Lord did in 2016 through YOU to Young Life kids and college students throughout Northwest Arkansas.
In the midst of chaos, trouble, uncertainty and struggle for adolescents today, you helped hope to creep in. In the midst of darkness, pain, sin and ugliness, you helped grace and light to come on the scene. In the midst of a culture where all the stats are trending downward regarding young people and their involvement in spiritual things, you participated in Christ's showing up in the middle of an adolescent's life in the form of a Young Life leader.
Through your participation in the gospel by your giving and prayers, these things happened for
Northwest Arkansas Young Life in 2016:
- 267 adolescents from NWA went to summer or weekend camp
- Around 50 kids and college students have served as work crew or summer staff, volunteering to help run a YL camp.
- Young Lives began in Springdale through a partnership with Compassion House
- A committee was formed in Prairie Grove to start Young Life at Prairie Grove High School.
- Young Life was born in Siloam Springs
- A new WyldLife club got started in Springdale
- 1641 kids came to Young Life clubs!
- Finally, lest we get lost in the numbers, a girl named Sophia met Jesus at Capernaum camp last summer, one of dozens of kids who experienced new life in Jesus through Young Life. Hallelujah.
