Genworth Introduces New Premium Relief Option for Eligible New York Partnership Policyholders |
Genworth Life Insurance Company of New York has introduced a new 3.5% Compound Benefit Increase Option (CBIO) for eligible New York Partnership Choice I policyholders.
This option may help policyholders lower premiums while still maintaining accumulated long-term care benefits and continued future growth at a reduced rate.
Policyholders may also have additional options available to help manage premiums, including adjusting benefit amounts, inflation options, or elimination periods.
It’s important to review any coverage changes carefully, as adjustments could impact New York State Partnership status and related Medicaid asset protection benefits.
Advisors with clients impacted by these changes should reach out to their KAFL sales team for support, coverage review discussions, and client conversation guidance.
Eligible Policy Prefixes
Choice I policy prefixes include:
UDG, VDG, NDG, ODG, KDG, HDG, and URP.
Effective April 27, 2026.

Disability Insurance Awareness Month Edition |
Disability Insurance Awareness Month is a great reminder that protecting income is one of the most important conversations advisors can have with clients.
From an underwriting perspective, early preparation can help create a smoother experience and set better expectations from the start.
DI Underwriting Tips:
|
-
Start with a prescreen when there are medical concerns or complex histories
- Gather detailed occupation and income information early
- Discuss existing coverage and participation limits upfront
- Prepare clients for possible medical records or exams
|
Many clients are healthy enough to qualify for coverage—they simply haven’t explored their options yet.
The earlier these conversations happen, the more opportunities clients may have available to them.
KAFL Tip:
Income protection conversations work well during:
|
-
Annual reviews
- Business planning discussions
- Retirement planning conversations
- Employee benefit reviews
|
Reach out to your KAFL underwriting or sales team for prescreen assistance, case guidance, and DI support resources during DIAM and beyond.

| Clay, creativity, and a lot of laughs 🏺 |
Our Service Team recently took some time to step away from the day-to-day and get hands-on with a pottery team-building experience. From shaping clay to sharing plenty of laughs, it was a great reminder that strong teams are built through connection, collaboration, and a little creativity along the way.
