The UTA College of Nursing and Health Innovation’s (CONHI) Center for Rural Health and Nursing (CRHN) hosted the 2025 semi-annual International Rural Nurse Organization (RNO) Conference, May 27-30, in Arlington, Texas. Dr. Yue Liao, PI (Kinesiology) received a $250K CPRIT High-Impact/High-Risk Research Award to support a groundbreaking project using AI and wearable tech to promote physical activity in cancer survivors. The 2-year project, titled "Developing personalized behavioral intervention messages to promote physical activity in cancer survivors leveraging wearable sensor data and generative AI", uses generative AI and sensor data to create smart, adaptive health messages tailored to each person's behavior and context – helping survivors build lasting healthy habits.
The research team includes: PI: Dr. Yue Liao (Kinesiology); Co-Investigators: Dr. Grace Brannon (Communication), Dr. Chengkai Li (CSE), Dr. Maria Chang Swartz (UT MD Anderson), and Consultant: Dr. Lauren Bohlen (Brown University). Read more

| Escape the Summer Sizzle
The CONHI Smart Hospital has partnered with Public Health and the School of Social Work to provide education for our students on summer safety. The escape room activity will be on display June through August 1. UTA students students are welcome to come over and see if they can "escape" the summer sizzle.
All UTA faculty and staff are welcome, as well. The escape room is Room 123 of the School of Social Work and Smart Hospital building.
