I'm eagerly counting down the days until the start of the semester! By the next time you hear from us, your student will likely be finishing their packing, already on their way here, or wrapping up their summer in Athens. Don't forget, you're welcome back to visit soon for the first Family Weekend in September.
This edition of Keeping Bobcats Informed is filled with all the details of the events planned for Welcome Week this year — a celebration of all our new and returning students. Before they arrive, your student can start exploring the hundreds of student organizations around campus, seeing which group fitness classes will fit in their schedule, or looking for student employment options. No matter how they were involved last year, there are always so many opportunities for growth and meeting new Bobcats.
We look forward to welcoming them in just a few weeks!

Your student can kick off their semester with a week packed with events to welcome them back to Athens, catch up with friends and meet new Bobcats! Welcome Week is open to all on- and off-campus students, whether it's their first week on campus or they're a returning Bobcat. They can ease their mind with morning yoga on the greens, meet other commuter students at commuter game night, catch a fireworks show during Bobcat Block Party, or watch a movie at the historic Athena Cinema uptown.

Students can download the OHIO Eats app to order ahead and skip the lines. They can even earn rewards with each online purchase! Does your student have food allergies or intolerances? The District has options for those who cannot consume gluten or have nut allergies. Students can also visit Margaret’s Made for You in the District where students with any special dietary need can go to receive a delicious and fresh meal made to order by one of our trained members of staff. Students can look for nutritional icons in the dining halls and on the menus posted online to determine what meal is right for them.
