Dr. Stuart Markovitch named CAS Interim Associate Dean for Research On Februrary 27, the College annouced Dr. Stuart Markovitch will become Interim Associate Dean for Research, effective May 1. He is currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology. He is also a co-leader of the D.U.C.K. Lab (Development and Understanding of Children's Knowledge.)
Proposal development services now available for UNCG faculty OSP is partnering with Hanover Research Services to provide proposal development services to UNCG faculty -- at no cost to you or your unit. Hanover can assist with prospecting, proposal revision, and proposal review. Lead times for requested services vary from 1-4 weeks. Learn more.
Fulbright Festival of Opportunities, hosted by UNCG's IPC, March 21 EUC Alexander Room, 4-6 PM Hear from current and past Fulbright recipients! Explore different opportunities Fulbright supports! Eat snacks and learn about the world! Fulbright helps faculty, students, and administrators teach, research, or study abroad. The program also helps bring international colleagues to UNCG. This event will focus on programs especially beneficial to our UNCG community like: Fulbright Scholar Awards (including the Flex and Global options), Scholar-in-Residence, IEA awards, Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad, the Outreach Lecturing Fund, and Fulbright Specialist program. Hosted by the International Programs Center and UNCG's Fulbright liaison, Dr. Maria Anastasiou.
NC Space Symposium in Raleigh, March 22 The NC Space Symposium brings together and features experts, researchers, and students from many STEM and NASA-relevant disciplines. $35/student; $75/general attendees. Learn more.

Apply for Kohler Award by March 15 Kohler Awards are administered by International Programs Center to support international teaching, research, student programs, or special projects. Next deadline: March 15. Learn more.
For students: Undergrad Research & Creativity Awards (URCA), apply by April 14 An URCA helps faculty and students partner in meaningful projects to advance their field of study. Use funds for research supplies, travel, or student stipend. URCA provides up to $3000 for the student and $500 for faculty. Learn more.
Community-Based URCA, apply by April 14 The community-based research initiation grant supports collaborative partnerships among community, student, and faculty teams. The program offers 3 types of awards:
- Project Award: up to $1,500 to support project expenses. Funds cannot be used to pay the faculty member. Funds must be spent by May 31, 2024.
- Undergraduate Researcher: up to $3,000 for undergraduate student research stipends. Funds go directly to the student.
- Graduate Researcher: up to $1,000 for a graduate research assistant. Funds go directly to the student. Learn more.
Colleague to Colleague (C2C) Proposal Reader Program, ongoing C2C is a CAS program that provides support for faculty members seeking proposal review assistance from an experienced scholar in their field, who is not a collaborator on the proposal. The reviewer receives a $500 honorarium. Apply for review support 2-3 months prior to your deadline. Learn more.
