Dear Colleagues,

As the winter term comes to a close, I want to thank you for all of your work and support and acknowledge that, through the joys and struggles of the last few months, your dedication to our students and to each other continues to provide light and hope.

I am writing today to announce and extend a special invitation to an event that holds great importance to our university community. On Friday, May 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., we will hold President Ann Cudd's investiture ceremony at the Viking Pavillion.

In recognition of this momentous occasion, and in consultation with the Deans, all morning classes between 9:00 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. will be canceled on May 10 so our entire community can attend the ceremony. Following the ceremony, there will be a luncheon where we can continue celebrating and connecting with one another.

Please note this change and course cancellation, as appropriate, in your 2024 Spring syllabi and class planning.

Faculty are invited to participate in the procession before the ceremony. If you need to rent regalia, the deadline is Tuesday, April 2. Regalia can be rented from Herff Jones and you may keep it through the commencement ceremonies.

I look forward to seeing all of you in attendance as we demonstrate our collective support and commitment to our new president and to Portland State University's continued success. I am personally honored to share this momentous occasion with you.
