Troubadour Thursdays coming to Downtown Tucson!

Join us every Thursday in April!

All month long Fox Tucson Theatre, in collaboration with Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP), is beginning the return to live music downtown with a troubadour style presentation of musicians who will visit outdoor patios throughout the downtown area every Thursday between 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Be sure to be at one of your favorite downtown patios on Thursdays in April! Participating businesses include 47 Scott, Batch, Charro Steak & Del Rey, HUB Restaurant & Creamery, La Chingada Cocina Mexicana, Senae Thai Bistro, and Ten55 Brewing Company.

Latest Public Health Advisory requests businesses and individuals stay the course to prevent COVID-19 spike

On March 26, 2021, the Pima County Health Department released a new Public Health Advisory, seeking to encourage businesses and residents to continue their use of face masks, social distancing, and other tools to prevent COVID-19. On March 25, Governor Doug Ducey’s Executive Order 2021-06 removed limitations on businesses and the ability for local governments to impose or up hold mask requirements.

“We can see that there is a pathway to the end of this pandemic,” said Dr. Theresa Cullen, Health Department Director. “To stay on that path, we have to continue to protect each other and ourselves. Face masks, social distancing, and vaccination are all part of the steps that will get us there. We have to continue using these tools.”

Inside look at the Downtown Merchants and Retail Council

Downtown merchants and retailers meet quarterly over Zoom

The Downtown Merchants and Retail Council is a group of active business members in Downtown Tucson that include owners, operators and staff of retail, restaurants, shops, hotels, services, museums, theaters, bars and offices. The new format of the council includes representatives from the City of Tucson, Pima County, Rio Nuevo , Tucson Metro Chamber and Downtown Tucson Partnership Board of Directors.

The current chairman of the council, Tom Heath of NOVA Home Loans, represents the council on the Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) Board of Directors.

Presented by The Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) and the University of Arizona Poetry Center, the 2nd annual Haiku Hike literary competition showcases twenty winning haiku poems printed on acrylic signage in planters located along Congress Street and Stone Avenue. These signs provide visual and cultural interest throughout the Spring season, beginning Saturday, March 20 through June 1. A hike through downtown following the Haiku trail is the perfect opportunity for the public to get reacquainted with all that Tucson’s urban center has to offer.
