Fabulous Fabrication
The University of Tulsa has announced the acquisition of Fab Lab Tulsa, a nonprofit organization that provides access to digital fabrication tools and resources to the community through membership and programming. Founded in 2010, Fab Lab Tulsa is one of more than 1,800 MIT-chartered fabrication centers in 78 countries and is one of only a few such independent nonprofit labs in the United States. The move is part of TU’s ongoing efforts to promote innovation and aligns with the university’s global reputation in STEM and the creative arts.

60 Years of JJQ
More than 60 years ago, Thomas Staley, then provost at The University of Tulsa, founded the James Joyce Quarterly. Since then, JJQ has become an internationally esteemed publication known for its coverage and analysis of the life and writings of modernist author James Joyce. “Even after 32 years of doing this, I’m extremely enthusiastic,” remarked Managing Editor Carol Kealiher. “The fact that we’re continuing with new avenues for a writer who died in the early 1940s and was a very complicated person, you have to attribute it to affection.”

A New Kind of Mission
Retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Chad Raduege, who most recently served as chief information officer at U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany, has been named the inaugural executive director of the Oklahoma Cyber Innovation Institute (OCII). Raduege has experience in technology, operations, and communications as well as academic credentials in business and organizational management to lead OCII, which brings world-class scientists and engineers to work alongside TU cyber faculty in digital transformation, critical infrastructure protection, autonomous systems, and organizational security.
