Encourage Students to Apply for Scholarships

Encourage your seniors to apply for the inaugural Keith West Memorial Student Scholarships. Four seniors will be selected to receive a $1,000 college scholarship in memory of Keith West. Winning students will demonstrate a commitment to speech and debate, academics, and the NSDA Honor Code. Applications close November 30

Sponsorship Letter Template

Local businesses in your area may be looking for more exposure in the community. Consider selling sponsorship packages in exchange for special promotional opportunities. When you're ready to reach out, use this template letter from a student to connect!

Competition Rules Agenda

The elected Board of Directors will meet on November 16 to discuss competition rules. Please feel free to email any comments or questions on the agenda. Feedback will be compiled and presented to the Board for consideration. 

Register: Weekend Capstone Tournament 

Be sure to register for our free Springboard Capstone Tournament on Saturday, December 4. Each event will feature rising stars and open divisions. We will offer live and asynch speech and hold four rounds of speech and Policy Debate, five rounds of PF, LD, BQ, and WSD, and two rounds of Congress.

Submit Students for Recognition

Each district can choose a graduating senior who represents the best of speech and debate as their Student of the Year. Winners receive a plaque and are entered in the running for National Student of the Year. District deadlines vary, but district chairs must report winners to us by April 16.

Celebrating Native American Heritage Month

It's Native American Heritage Month! We invite your team to celebrate with our tools and materials, including a literature collection of works by Native American authors for Interp pieces, a poster series, land acknowledgement resources, and more. 

2022 Poster Design Contest

Member students can submit a poster for the 2022 National Speech and Debate Education Day Poster Contest! The winning poster will be included in celebratory toolkits sent to teams across the country and available to download online. Encourage your students to submit a design by November 19.
