This year, 39 of our 57 Class of 2021 graduates have won scholarships. Here are a few highlights:
Zhada Allen received the UNCF (United Negro College Fund) Jordan WINGS Scholarship that will pay 100% college costs above her unmet need.
Princeton McKinney was a state winner for the Horatio Alger Scholarship and also received the Portland Fund Scholarship.
Six of our seniors, Juan Pablo Benitez, Hedid Rojas-Salinas, Tre’Nisha Shearer, Diego Siquina-Tomas, Bryan Soriano-Salinas, and Euale Teklay received The Renaissance Foundation Scholarship, renewable for four years!
Thanks to generous scholarships provided by the University of Portland, 10 Class of 2021 graduates will attend UP in the fall. UP became a University Partner with the Cristo Rey Network this year, and DLSNC has truly been blessed by UP and its donors.
12 of our seniors received Future Connect Scholarships to Portland Community College. Not only will they attend college for free, but they also will have advisory support from the program, making their transition to a four-year university smoother.
24 of our seniors received 4-Years Free Scholarships (full tuition) to Portland State University.
Coco-Chanel Quaye received a Skanner Foundation Scholarship at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast that was held virtually in January.
Three DLSNC seniors won Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career Scholarships: Kelsey Arteaga Soto, Janaé Boyd and Cing Nem.
Three of our seniors received Pathway Oregon Scholarships (full tuition) to the University of Oregon.
