TIPQC Welcomes New Infant Medical Director Elect
Dr. Morad is an associate professor of pediatrics at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics and is the Director of Newborn Nursery.
Dr. Morad enjoys quality improvement work and has been involved with TIPQC projects for many years. She started her work as a team lead for the Hospital Breastfeeding Promotion project then moved to a state lead on wave 2 for that project. She is currently a state lead for TIPQC project, Optimizing Care of the Late Preterm Infant.
She is a member of Tennessee American Academy of Pediatrics where she serves as Chapter Breastfeeding Coordinator and Chapter Vice President. She is also a member of the Academic Pediatric Association. She has co-authored comparative literature reviews on ankyloglossia, tonsillectomy, and infantile hemangioma.
Dr. Morad feels that continued learning and quality improvement are essential parts of medical practice and is excited to take on the role of Infant Medical Director for TIPQC. When she was asked to consider this position, she initially felt it a was stretch for a pediatric generalist but ultimately realized that quality care for all babies is a shared goal across all units and clinics. She sees this role as a natural extension of her professional interests and looks forward to working with and learning from the various project teams across the state.
