Message from the Associate Dean and Extension Director

On 4 December 2018 I described the development of the Extension Strategic Investment Program (ESIP).  In this strategic investment effort we are offering up to $500,000/program area or $2M total to support new Extension programming efforts.

These are one-time funds. This program does not provide permanent or long-term funding.  However, this program can help Extension faculty and staff initiate and develop new Extension projects, and initiatives.

We received many outstanding proposals by the deadline at 5 p.m. on Friday, 21 December 2018.   The proposals requested a total of more than $4.5M for the $2M available.  Thus, the Associate Directors for each of the program areas worked hard in the review process to sort out the successful proposals for funding.

The successful ESIP projects will receive notification soon for immediate support with the transfer of funds to the respective units for project implementation.

We are delighted to have this opportunity to support the great work and capacity to deliver on our mission with the Extension programs across the state.
