Dear Festival Friends and Supporters,
Where will STEM Take You in 2018? This year, discover how STEM Can Take You into the deep blue, cyberspace, the human body, nature, outer space and beyond with the USA Science & Engineering Festival. Festival school programs and events are sure to ignite a spark and invite kids from all over the country to see where STEM can and will take them!
Beginning this February, the
Nifty Fifty Program will send a wide array of talented professionals into classrooms around the country, inspiring kids with their great stories and personal experiences in their STEM careers. The Festival celebration starts on Thursday, April 5, as the
X-STEM Symposium returns to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Presented by
PwC &
NCR, X-STEM connects more than 4,000 middle and high school students with the nation’s most exciting and innovative STEM professionals. In this TED-style setting, speakers will share how STEM has taken them to extraordinary places in their careers.
Kicking off Expo weekend on Friday, April 6,
Sneak Peek Friday, sponsored by
Chevron, invites schools, homeschoolers, and military families to get a first look at the Expo showroom before the general public. Also on Friday, we are introducing our brand new
STEM Career Fair, presented by
EY. The STEM Career Fair will connect employers with potential recruits.
Click here to join us as a recruiter, and students interested in meeting potential employers can register
here.
And finally, the
Expo Finale, presented once again by
Lockheed Martin, on April 7-8, will allow sponsors and exhibitors to showcase all of the amazing places where
STEM Can Take You with over 3,000 hands-on activities, amazing stage shows featuring Festival spokesperson
Danni Washington and other science celebs and so much more!
Note: New this year, it is required to pre-register for the Festival Expo.
Throughout 2018, we will continue to refine and reshape the Festival experience. Without our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, performers, volunteers, donors and Festival family members, none of this would be possible. We thank you for your service to our shared mission and we count on your continued support. We can’t wait to see where STEM will take the innovators of tomorrow!
From the USA Science & Engineering board and staff, we wish you all a safe and joyous New Year!
