Holly Dysserinck grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, where her own experience of struggling to find community in college inspired her to pursue a career in higher education. In her role as assistant director for civic engagement and leadership, she puts on events and activities around themes of social justice and political engagement. With midterm elections less than a month away, Dysserinck and her team are focused on promoting voter engagement on campus and helping students understand the importance of their vote. Since joining the Office of Student Involvement and Programs in July, she’s also been hard at work helping put on fun events like “Are You Smarter Than the Dean?” In her spare time, Dysserinck and her partner like taking their two wiener dogs, Salsiccia and Frank, swimming at Titlow Beach, and participating in Thursday trivia nights all over Tacoma.
