Remember to Shovel Your Sidewalks

It's that time of year when we have to keep our snow shovels, gloves and boots close by. Please remember that residents and businesses are required to clear their sidewalks within 24 hours when more than two inches of snow has fallen.

Boards and Commissions Group

Get on Board with Wheat Ridge 

The City is seeking residents who wish to participate as a volunteer on the City’s Boards, Commissions and Committees. Generally, applicants must live in the district of the position to which they are applying. Residents from other districts may be considered. 

Positions are opening in the following boards, commissions and committees: 

Board of Adjustment, Building Code Advisory Board, Cultural Commission, Liquor License Authority Board, Planning Commission, and Renewal Wheat Ridge.  
The deadline to apply is Feb. 12, 2023. Apply on the city's website

44th Avenue Plan Nearing Adoption

The 44th Avenue Subarea plan is expected to go to Planning Commission and City Council for adoption hearings on March 16 and March 27.

New Hotel Licensing Program
Wheat Ridge City Council passed an ordinance, requiring hotels and motels doing business in Wheat Ridge to have a hotel/motel license in addition to a business license.

City of Wheat Ridge Starts 2023 With New Investment in Leadership


The City of Wheat Ridge announced the promotion of two senior leaders within the City. Allison Scheck, who previously served as administrative services director, has been promoted to Deputy City Manager, where she will continue to direct the Administrative Services Department, while helping guide strategic planning.
Marianne Schilling
Marianne Schilling, who previously served as assistant to the city manager, has been appointed to Assistant City Manager. She will continue to provide guidance to the city manager on City Council directed initiatives, special projects, policy research and neighborhood initiative.
