Gwinnett Place is Making News |
Exciting redevelopment news for Gwinnett Place CID! The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved the Urban Redevelopment Agency of Gwinnett County’s purchase of the Macy’s sites at Gwinnett Place Mall, totaling 23 acres, for $16.5 million.
The board also approved the issuance of bonds to fund the purchase through its Urban Redevelopment Agency. This means the canvas for redevelopment of the Gwinnett Place Mall site is now even larger!

GPCID Board Chair Leo Wiener, who is also the president of Ackerman Retail, the retail division of Ackerman & Co., was featured in a Shopping Center Business article discussing the fundamentally strong yet challenging retail landscape in Atlanta.

Gwinnett Place CID Participates in
Great Days of Service Clean Up |
On October 18, the Gwinnett Place CID partnered with Gwinnett County to participate in the Great Days of Service cleanup in the Gwinnett Place area. Recognized as one of the largest volunteer-driven service events in the United States, we are deeply grateful to all who contributed their time and effort.
In collaboration with the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources and Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful, our dedicated team of 29 volunteers made a significant impact on our community. Together, they collected an impressive 5,195 lbs. of trash and debris, including 187 bags of trash, 46 tires, more than 750 golf balls and large items such as old refrigerators and furniture.
This event is a testament to the power of community collaboration and we are proud of the role we played in keeping Gwinnett Place clean and vibrant. Thank you to all the volunteers for your hard work and dedication—together, we are creating a lasting impact!

Gwinnett Police Foundation Golf Tournament
A Success |
The Gwinnett Police Foundation Golf Tournament was a fantastic success, bringing together community members, local businesses and law enforcement for a day of camaraderie and support. Held at Reunion Country Club on October 7, the tournament featured a spirited competition on the greens, fostering connections among participants while raising funds for the foundation’s initiatives.
Attendees enjoyed a day filled with networking, friendly competition and the opportunity to support the vital work of the Gwinnett Police Department. Proceeds from the event will go towards community programs, safety initiatives and resources for local officers.
