Schedule meetings with FindTime
A free, FERPA-compliant alternative to Doodle polls

Dear colleagues,
Information Services would like to introduce FindTime, a handy scheduling app from Microsoft. This Outlook add-in, which is FERPA-compliant, joined the UO Microsoft suite this year.

What it does

  • FindTime allows you to easily find time to meet with others, including people outside the UO.
  • You can create a poll that allows attendees to vote on the times you suggest or propose alternatives.
  • FindTime provides a helpful alternative to the third-party service Doodle, whose group polling feature is no longer free.
FindTime doesn't replace your UOmail calendar, which already facilitates meeting scheduling by letting you check in advance for availability among members of the UO community.

Usage example

To schedule a meeting with three people from the UO plus an outside collaborator, you could suggest several times that the UO attendees are all free — based on their UOmail calendars — then send out a poll that lets everyone vote, including the outside collaborator.

Availability

  • FindTime is available to UO faculty, staff, and students.
  • You may already see a FindTime logo in Outlook. If not, you can activate FindTime.

More information

If you have any questions or need help, please submit a ticket at Microsoft Office 365 Support Request in the UO Service Portal.
Many members of the UO community already use FindTime. We hope you'll find it useful, too!
Sincerely,
Abhijit Pandit
