You are invited to attend the Gwinnett Place CID Board of Directors meeting this Wednesday, April 9, at 7:30 a.m. at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta. During the meeting, GPCID will hold its annual Caucus of Electors for Posts 2 and 5. Our board meetings are open to the public.

Gwinnett Place CID Planning Session: Shaping the Future |
Last month, the Gwinnett Place CID Board of Directors hosted a planning session with leaders from Gwinnett County Government, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and Partnership Gwinnett to discuss key initiatives that will shape the district’s future. The session focused on upcoming projects, growth strategies and opportunities to enhance the area’s development, paving the way for a thriving environment for businesses and the community.

Gwinnett Place CID is grateful to Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden and Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Nick Masino for their support and engagement during the session. The CID board is encouraged about the direction Gwinnett Place is heading and the positive impact these initiatives will have on the district’s continued growth.

Brightening Up the Gwinnett Central Business District |

The CID is excited to share that new LED street lights are being installed throughout Gwinnett’s Central Business District! A big shout-out to the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation (DOT), Jackson EMC and Georgia Power for making these upgrades in lighting throughout the district. Lighting along portions of Koger Boulevard, Centerview Drive, Breckinridge Boulevard, Crestwood Parkway, Pineland Road, Venture Parkway, Venture Drive, Gwinnett Place Drive, Mall Boulevard, Market Street, Merchants Way, Tandy Key Lane and Commerce Avenue are all being upgraded to much brighter LEDs, providing greater illumination for both sidewalks and streets, enhancing the area’s safety and visibility.

Exciting Progress for Gwinnett Place: New Transit Center Approved |

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners has approved a $3.5 million contract to design a new Gwinnett Place Transit Center at the former Gwinnett Place Mall site. This is a major milestone in the revitalization of the Gwinnett Place area, reflecting the county’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing connectivity.
Gwinnett Place CID appreciates the County Commission’s ongoing support and investment in the district's growth, and is excited about the positive impact these developments will have on the community as plans continue to move forward.

On March 27, Partnership Gwinnett hosted its Annual Economic Outlook, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Alfie Meek, Director of the Center for Economic Development Research at the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute. Gwinnett Place CID was proud to be a presenting sponsor of this event, which provided attendees, including influential business, community members and elected leaders, with valuable insights into economic trend forecasting, offering an overview of the state of our economy.

The Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE) recently announced the recipients of the 2025 Engineer of the Year Awards and GPCID is thrilled to congratulate Lewis Cooksey, Director of the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation, who was honored as the Engineer of the Year in Government.
GPCID is grateful for Lewis’ exceptional leadership and partnership, as well as his advocacy for the construction of multiple projects that have played a crucial role in improving the district. Lewis has more than 25 years of service to Gwinnett County, and consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the field of engineering, particularly in transportation and planning. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

Did you know that the new Raising Cane's opened in February? Well, it did! Located at 2110 Pleasant Hill Road in the heart of the district, this popular chain is serving up delicious chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries and their famous Cane’s sauce.
