We hope everyone had a great time at the Student Posting Party! Congrats to all teams that advanced at the tournament.

As a reminder, main event competition continues at Brighton HS on Wednesday, with supplemental speech events at Jordan HS and Extemp Debate at Mount Jordan MS.
Our coach clinics also continue on Wednesday. We encourage you to attend one or more sessions in between any judging obligations you may have.

Middle School Nationals Begins
The Middle School National Speech & Debate Tournament begins Wednesday morning. We are thrilled to have nearly 900 students from 136 schools at this year's tournament. Middle school competition will take place at Alta High School (debate events) and Indian Hills Middle School (speech events). 
Judge at Middle School Nationals
Any high school student who wishes to judge at Middle School Nationals after being eliminated from main event competition must be a junior or senior with 250 honor society points. Student volunteers earn two merit points for each round judged! Students who meet the requirements should arrive by 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday in one of the following locations for judge training:
Alta HS Auditorium – MS Debate Events
Indian Hills MS Auditorium – MS Speech Events

Speech Quarterfinalists
All speech quarterfinalists (Top 30 round 9 qualifiers) are required to turn in the original source to the Brighton HS bud room by NOON on Wednesday. Photocopies are not acceptable. In addition, contestants must turn in the script highlighting all of the words used and noting any words for transitional purposes only. Any contestant failing to produce the original source and highlighted manuscript to the bud room will not qualify for the semifinal rounds of competition. Contestants may turn in scripts as early as 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Consolation Event Re-registration
Pre-registered students who were eliminated from their main event or supplemental event(s) may re-register Wednesday to compete in consolation events (Storytelling or Impromptu) on Thursday. Re-registration will be at the following times and locations:
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Brighton HS Cafeteria (Main Events)
4 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Jordan HS Cafeteria (Supp-Cons Events)
4 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Mount Jordan MS Cafeteria (Extemp Debate)
7 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Hilton Granite Boardroom (Congress)
