Overcoming Obstacles

Mohamed Fakhry, a graduate student in architecture, has become the first Clemson student ever to be awarded a prestigious Gavalas Kolanko scholarship for students with disabilities. Fakhry lost his hearing at age 11 and wants to design buildings for accessibility.

Enhancing Patient Care

When immunization guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention aren’t updated in a health care setting, patients could suffer the consequences. Xia Jing, an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, is beginning a five-year project to help make updating these guidelines a little easier for providers in smaller primary care settings.

A Departmental Record

Clemson Athletics earned a department-record overall 93 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for the 2010-13 cohort in data released by the NCAA. It’s the seventh consecutive cohort in which Clemson’s department wide GSR was at 91% or higher. The previous record was 92% set in 2018 (2008-11 cohort).
