Dr. Angela Seaworth spoke to the Texas Nonprofit Council, an advisory board to the Governor, to share data and ideas about how we can strengthen the nonprofit ecosystem throughout Texas. Additionally, she served on OneStar’s Rural Community Focus Group to help shape OneStar’s strategic plan for addressing nonprofit needs across Texas for the next 3-5 years.

A newly published paper co-authored by two ISTPP Fellows and ISTPP Director and PSAA Professor Arnold Vedlitz has been featured on the ASCE Civil Engineering Source site. The ASCE Journal paper “Growing Community Resilience from the Grassroots: Risk Awareness, Confidence in Institutions, and Civic Participation in a Natural Hazards Context,” is in the August issue of the Natural Hazards Review.

Professor Cary J. Nederman's book chapter, entitled "The Holy Roman Empire and the Universal Church," discusses theories of international political order during the Middle Ages. The defense of a single universal system of political rule became more widespread and intense in the later Middle Ages, just at the time when localized units of rulership such as national kingdoms and city-states were growing in power and autonomy. The chapter is included in The Palgrave Handbook of International Political Theory, Volume 1.

Professor Sievert's article "Drones and the Law - Can They Hover Over Your House or Property," was published in the November issue of the Texas Bar Journal. The article discusses law enforcement, government and private use of drones and explains when an individual may be able to exclude evidence obtained by a UAV and when they may be able to take action to prevent any entity from conducting overhead visual surveillance of their property.
- Professor Gary Brown Spoke on the panel, "International Law, Cyber Norms, and Military Cyber Stability" at the MIT-hosted Cyber Norms Conference this November.

Research Assistant Professor Edward Lemon was quoted in an article in The Telegraph. He said the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine had made Russia a more dangerous place to live for migrants, “Migrants, especially dual citizens, live in increasing fear that they will get drafted.”
