With the 2024 U.S. elections only a week away, many are wondering, “How does AI impact democracy?” Faculty researchers at the University of Notre Dame are tackling this question by working to minimize misinformation, explore AI's challenges and opportunities and advance democracy for the common good.
In the first installment, "Using AI to detect misinformation and address impacts to democracy," listen as the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society's Dmitry Zaytsev and Brian Fogarty reflect on the implications of AI's influence in democracy, and hear from David Campbell, the Packey J. Dee Professor of American Democracy at the University of Notre Dame and the director of the Notre Dame Democracy Initiative.
