Dear 2020 EO Sydney University attendee:

We are excited to welcome you to Sydney in March for the 2020 EO Sydney University! We’ll be uniting in Sydney for the next EO Global University, where you’ll have an opportunity to travel to Australia and view your own entrepreneurial path through a new lens as you learn and develop with the University’s theme: 20/20 Vision.

Australia is currently facing a devastating bushfire crisis that is impacting communities and the natural environment. The fires are 3-4 hours outside of Sydney’s center, meaning that though there is a possibility of changes to the University’s schedule, it is unlikely we will have to reschedule or cancel any planned events in the two months leading up to the event. Major tourist destinations are also unaffected. Additional travel information can be provided for any attendees wishing to arrive early or leave later for further sightseeing.

We also want to take this opportunity to remind attendees that the Sydney chapter is eager to welcome international visitors. While confronting such disaster, mindful tourism and sustainable logistical practices are a wonderful way to support the Australian economy, bolster local businesses and contribute to regional recovery. We remain committed to experiencing Australian hospitality and culture while learning and developing with fellow entrepreneurs. Social venues and off-site activities are all located within 45 minutes from the Hyatt Regency. With the conference being hosted at the Hyatt Regency, located adjacent to Darling Harbour in Sydney’s Central Business District, the conference venue, evening program and off-site activities will proceed as planned. 

In times of difficulty, we come together. The planning team and local chapter are committed to hosting you for an unparalleled learning and evening social program in Sydney. As guests traveling to Australia, we encourage everyone to take a pledge to explore mindfully and reduce our environmental footprint. We’re approaching event logistics as thoughtfully as possible and emphasizing sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices.

One aspect of the University on which we’re concentrating is culinary — you will eat local cuisine throughout the conference prepared with locally-sourced and sustainable ingredients. The Hyatt Regency has removed all plastics from guest rooms to reduce our plastic waste. There are water dispensers on every guest room level and these will also be made available in the University lounge. Please bring reusable water bottles for use at the event.
