The Supreme Court of the United States Police Department is Accepting Applications!
Serve as a uniformed police officer with the Supreme Court of the United States. Supreme Court Police are primarily responsible for protecting the Chief Justice, Associate Justices, building occupants and the Court’s building and grounds. Additional responsibilities include Courtroom security, dignitary protection, emergency response, and providing assistance to building visitors.
Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, life insurance, health benefits, premium pay, and eligibility for retirement with 20 years of service at age 50, or 25 years of service at any age.

Join us for our 5th Annual LATI Colloquium. There will be performances, panels, artwork, music, and much more!
The opening ceremony will begin April 6 at 3:45 p.m. in GSUB 129. Alonso Acosta Flores will perform original Peruvian music, followed by brief welcoming remarks by Dr. David Blackmore and NJCU President Dr. Sue Henderson, with keynote speaker Dr. Dario Euraque from Trinity College. Then, there will be an art exhibition and reception in the LATI Center (Karnoutsos 102).
On Thursday, April 7, the LATI Colloquium will begin at 10 a.m. in GSUB 129, 317, and the atrium. In total, there will more than 30 presenters and eight sessions, which will include performances, poster presentations and much more. The closing ceremony will feature remarks by Provost Tamara Jhashi, an announcement of graduating LATI minors and LATI minor scholarship recipients, performances by the NJCU Afro-Peruvian Jazz Loop and Rolando Morales-Matos's Latin American Ensemble, and a reception hosted by the Office of Global Initiatives.

The defending Skyline Conference champion Gothic Knight men's volleyball team begins defense of their title when NJCU hosts archrival Ramapo College in the Skyline Conference semifinals on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. Admission is free for the first-ever home Skyline Conference Tournament match in program history. NJCU is 21-8 on the season — its most wins since the 2009 season. NJCU is the No. 2 seed; Ramapo is the third seed.

In March 2019 the University Senate established the Joe Riotto Award to acknowledge a member of the University community — faculty, student or staff — who exemplifies the qualities Joe exhibited during his service to the University Senate and the University. See below for the full criteria and procedures.
ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA In recognition of superior service and on-going contributions to the University Senate, the Riotto Award will be given to any full-time employee or full-time student who advocates and lives the values demonstrated by Dr. Joseph Riotto. Those values are exemplified by Dr. Riotto’s commitment to shared governance, integrity, transparency, engagement, civility, respect, and consistency.
NOMINATION PROCEDURES
- Any full-time employee or full-time student of NJCU may nominate a prospective candidate.
- The nomination should specify how the candidate fulfills the criteria listed above. The nomination should cite specific examples of superior service and ongoing contributions to the University Senate made by the nominee.
Please send nominations to Senate@njcu.edu. The Senate Executive Committee will forward nominations to the Faculty & Professional Staff Affairs (FPSA) Committee and the award will be presented at the May reorganization meeting.

Specific information regarding submission of a picture, quote, and/or thank you message, and the ability to submit your name for professional recording during the diploma process will be sent to eligible candidates via University email during the Spring 2022 semester. Additionally, Commencement regalia information will be announced in the coming months.
Similar to our 2021 Commencement exercises, we will have two ceremonies:

On the heels of last year’s success, the Division of Professional Education and Lifelong Learning (PELL) in partnership with the Music, Dance and Theatre (MDT) Department and its acclaimed faculty, hosts the Multi-Style String Educators Symposium 2022.
Under the direction of electro-acoustic violist Martha Mooke, Director of NJCU Multi-Style Strings, with Special Guest Artists Sweet Plantain String Quartet, participants will learn to play and learn to teach a wide variety of styles, including jazz, Latin, R&B, blues, African, Celtic, bluegrass, folk, and rock. The event will also feature repertoire of varying grade levels and styles, different approaches to improvisation and ways of incorporating electronics with special feature on Latin American music and styles.
The three-day event will be held Monday, August 1 through Wednesday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and on August 3, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. for the dress rehearsal and collaborative concert with Sweet Plantain.
