Hello everyone,
In the past, you may have seen our printed calendar that informs campus of the many Student Experience events and programs. We will not be producing that calendar this year, but instead will be continuously updating an online version to keep you in the loop about our programming efforts. See the entire listing for the upcoming weeks on our web calendar.
We are working along with the YSU Web Team on an even better web calendar that allows you to add events to your personal Google, Microsoft, or i Cal. You will also be able to receive RSS feeds for particular types of events that interest you!
All the best to you for a successful semester.

NEW IN THE DIVISION OF STUDENT EXPERIENCE

Hubert and D'Amico Lead YSU Admissions
The Division of Student Experience would like to announce new leadership in the Office of Admissions. Chrissie Hubert has been appointed Director of Admissions and Bill D’Amico is Associate Director. Both share a commitment to sharing the good news about the incredible things YSU has to offer.
Hubert says, “I love working with prospective students and their families. That is the main reason why I chose the field of higher education, specifically Admissions. For many families, the college search process is daunting and they don’t know where to begin. Anything that I can do to help the family navigate through the process is what I consider success.” She notes that the job of recruitment requires the participation of all of us to be successful. “Our recruitment team includes everyone at YSU not just the Admissions staff. The simple act of saying hello to a student can go a long way in either recruiting or retaining that student. Covid-19 has taught us to think outside the normal recruitment processes and be creative, using new strategies that I would like to continue into 2021 and beyond.”
D'Amico says that his biggest goal is to continue to adjust and adapt to the ever-changing world of student recruitment. “We are actively stepping outside of traditional methods and doing everything possible to reach prospective students. This includes offering a wide range of virtual programs, engaging in more robust and consistent communication, and leveraging our new customer relationship management technology.” Like Hubert, D’Amico is all in—he loves YSU and says. “We have great academic programs, tons of student experience opportunities, a beautiful campus and are one of the most affordable institutions out there…. What else could you want?!”
Hubert and D’Amico have a combined total of 37 years in Admissions, and both are passionate about YSU. Hubert says, “YSU has so many caring and compassionate faculty and staff that go above and beyond every day for the students. Also, our students have endless opportunities to help them grow both professionally and personally.”

Mercy Health - Wick Primary Care at YSU is open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday for walk-in, telehealth or scheduled appointments. All persons entering the building are required to wear a mask and will have their temperatures checked upon arrival. General screening questions will be asked, i.e., fever in last 24 hours, cough, shortness of breath, recent known exposure, etc. To limit the number of people in the waiting room, no visitors can accompany patients. Students will be asked to provide YSU ID, driver’s license, and insurance card (if they have it). The Wick Flu Clinic has its own entrance off the parking lot and will be completely separate from the regular Wick office. Signs will direct guests to the correct entrance. Students with respiratory symptoms should go to the Flu Clinic. All others can go to the regular Walk-in.
