Summer Camp Online Registration Begins March 16
The Leisure Services Department summer camp registration will begin Saturday, March 16 at 9:00 a.m. for ACC residents. Non-residents may register starting Monday, March 18 at noon.

"Hike into History"at Ben Burton Park
Take a guided hike with Hike into History at Ben Burton Park with Trails and Open Space staff. Learn about the social, economic, and natural history of our public spaces. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a water bottle and wear shoes for hiking
This program is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Ben Burton Park. The hike is for ages 8 and older (children must be accompanied by an adult)
The fee is $2 for ACC residents and $3 for non-residents. Online registration is underway.

Zoo Day 2024 at Bear Hollow Zoo
The Leisure Services Department will host at Zoo Day 2024 on Saturday, March 16 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Bear Hollow Zoo at Memorial Park.
We are celebrating animal art with local art vendors, a youth art exhibition featuring native Georgia wildlife, as well as educational animal encounters and crafts!
The event is free of charge.

"Flight of the Fireflies" Lantern Parade at Dudley Park
It's back!
Participants will enjoy live music, fantastical performers, and large-scale illuminated puppets.
This parade is open to the entire Athens community, individuals, families, school, neighborhood groups, and organizations are all encouraged to participate.

Leisure Services is now hiring more than 100 summer positions. Applications are currently being accepted for camp counselors, counselors in training, Grand Slam, lifeguards, and pool clerks. "Family Saturdays" at Lyndon House Arts Center
The Lyndon House Arts Center hosts Family Saturdays: Art Workshops through the spring of 2024.
Family Saturdays: Art Workshops provide the opportunity to explore the practice of artists who are exhibiting their art in the galleries at the Lyndon House Arts Center. Coinciding with a variety of contemporary art exhibitions, these drop-in workshops include projects that are inspired by the current shows and are designed for children and adults to participate in together. Come join the Lyndon House Arts Center for family-oriented art workshops and stay to explore the artwork that inspired the projects!
2024 dates include Saturdays March 9 and March 30 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Family Saturdays: Art Workshops are free and available for casual drop in, however, online registration is recommended.

Spring Online Registration Continues
A diverse selection highlighting the arts, environmental science, recreation, sports, and holiday events are planned for adults and children.
Online program registration for Athens-Clarke County residents will open at 9 AM on Saturday, February 3. Non-residents may register online starting Monday, February 5 at noon. Before registering, individuals who have not already done so must establish a free online account at www.accgov.com/myrec. Payment may be rendered using an American Express, debit card, Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa, or a MasterCard or Visa gift card.
Registration will continue until programs are at full enrollment or they begin.
New scholarship applicants and individuals with expired scholarships must visit a Leisure Services Department facility office to apply for a scholarship or to renew an expired one at least five business days prior to registering for a program. Scholarships may not be applied for online. Information regarding scholarship program changes, including required documentation, is available at www.accgov.com/scholarship.
Individuals who do not have access to a computer or smart phone may register online using the computer labs at Heard Park at 400 McKinley Dr., Lay Park at 297 Hoyt St., or Rocksprings Park at 291 Henderson Ext. during regular hours of operation.
