Free Tournament for Novices

We're proud to announce the NSDA Springboard Series, a free tournament series for novice and middle school students, presented by The Julia Burke Foundation! Schools and students must be NSDA members to enter the tournament. There is no entry fee for participation. 
Each event will have a middle school and a novice division. The first tournament will take place later this month on Ooctober 24 (register by October 19). Check out the full schedule of future tournaments and talk to your coach about entering!

Judge Trainings

We encourage all judges to take our judge trainings to check implicit biases and learn to give appropriate, productive feedback to competitors. We encourage you to take the trainings if you're judging novices or middle school students! Remember, you're expected to act in accordance with the Code of Honor whether you're judging or competing.

Technology Resource Fund

Our Technology Resource Fund, presented by The Julia Burke Foundation, is intended to provide financial support for NSDA member students who lack needed technology resources (webcams, microphones, laptop, hotspots, etc.) to successfully compete in online speech and debate activities. Talk to your coach about applying!

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15 through October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month! We encourage your team to celebrate the month with our tools. You can even print our posters to celebrate at home or design posters featuring members of your team. Check out all of our available resources here. 
We believe featuring topics, themes, and issues that impact an assortment of peoples and our society at large can create more informed global citizens and a space where students feel heard, welcomed, and encouraged to learn.
