Francis Gunter
Francis Gunter is a first-year parks, recreation and tourism management (recreational therapy concentration) major and an aspiring occupational therapist. After her beloved great aunt suffered a stroke, Francis saw the toll that recovery took on her loved one’s life. After attending occupational therapy sessions with her great aunt, she realized that her calling was helping people cope with their lifelong disabilities. However, she understood that pursuing a career in occupational therapy would require several years of higher education and a lot of debt. She thought she might have to give up her dream until she received her Clemson scholarship. Now, thanks to the generosity of the Clemson Family, Francis can attend Clemson and pursue her dream career without the stress of debt after graduation.
