Support Students Impacted by FireÂ
Late on the evening of October 7, a fire tore through an apartment building in Shrewsbury, Missouri. Out of the 30 people displaced by the fire, 18 are current Webster students. Thankfully, all of them safely evacuated the building without injury, however, it has become clear that some students had lost everything and only escaped the blaze with the clothes on their backs.Â
Webster is asking for the community’s help in providing the students with further assistance. The Gorloks Now! crowdfunding campaign, which was started to meet emergency needs during the pandemic, is being restructured for this crisis. Donations can be made directly to the fund.Â
A Clothing & Essentials Collection Drive for the students was held on October 14 and saw an outstanding community response. Check out the Fox 2 Now feature on the drive.Â
