Using Decolonizing Therapy as a framework, this program will highlight the intersections of Afro-Latine identity, racialized trauma, strategies for demystifying therapy and offering community care, as well as methods for celebrating and finding joy despite oppressive systems.

Curated by Atim Annette Oton of Calabar Gallery, the exhibition explores wide-ranging art making processes, distinctive cultural roots, issues of language, and identity in Latin American art. From installation, painting to photography, this two-gallery exhibition presents the multiplicity of artistic voices from 20 emerging and established artists from the Jersey City and New York Metropolitan area.

Artists in the exhibition are: Alexandra Alvarez, Ray Arcadio, Natali Bravo-Barbee, Vanezza Cruz, Giannina Gutierrez, Jacqueline Herranz-Brooks, Tenjin Ikeda, Sonia Lerebours, Kandy G. Lopez, Maria Lupiañez, Cesar Melgar, Katherine Miranda, Josué Morales Urbina, Felix Morelo, Dayani Munoz, Estrella Munoz, Slyvia Padillia, Ann Tirado, Melissa Ulto and João (Juno) Zago.
