"The chapter in San Luis Potosí officially started in March 2019 at my (Raul's) local church. We started surveying books like Tactics by Greg Koukl to get the chapter members a beginner's guide to apologetics. People have been very responsive to this kind of approach since their main concern is how to approach the unbeliever in a practical way. We are taking it step-by-step moving forward with more solid material.
We had two major events back in November 2019. We presented the moral argument and a case for the resurrection of Jesus. We did a lot of promotion for this event and this drew a lot of attention, including from other churches. In the first session we discussed the moral argument for God's existence and at the end we had a wonderful session of Q&A. There were some push-back on the morality of the Bible, the behavior of certain Christian groups throughout history, and the role of biological evolution and social conditioning in morality. A week later we had our second session on the resurrection of Jesus and how the naturalist explanations of the evidence fail in comparison to the supernatural explanation that God raised Jesus from the dead.
This was an amazing step forward in reaching out to local churches regarding the importance of apologetics for the regular church member. We had the opportunity to raffle a book at the end of the session and offered free doughnuts!!! (Take it as a tip to get people interested in your chapter reunions!)
Here is a personal reflection about something that happened in these events. For the last year I've been sharing the Gospel with some of my fellow coworkers and it has been quite a challenge. Although they are atheists, they are part of this increasing group of apatheism. They just don't care about truth or religion. But, since I began the approach through friendship and getting interested in their hobbies we developed a friendship. So when I invited some of them to church for these events, they were willing to attend. And I don't want to minimize this. One of them is deeply hostile to religion since he has been personally hurt due to hostile treatment in past experiences. I firmly believe that God has planted the seed and maybe someone else will water it. But as Koukl says, a stone has been placed in their shoes."

It is the incredible pleasure of Reasonable Faith to empower local apologists like Raul and Antonio to graciously challenge unbelievers, strengthen believers, and shape the surrounding culture for the sake of Christ. Stories like that of the San Luis Potosí chapter are now multiplying across Latin America as new chapters are being opened on a regular basis, a movement spearheaded by Raul who is also the ministry's Regional Chapters Director for that area. Please join us in praying for the currently existing chapters there and that God would raise up many more!
