The Gender Data Collective @ NCUR

GPRP's team of undergraduate researchers, the Gender Data Collective, recently presented their research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in Richmond, VA. They shared their first research project examining regional differences in sex education and how they shape gender attitudes across the United States. Their work specifically explores the relationship between K–12 sex education and individuals’ perspectives on gender, with the goal of better understanding how education can influence inclusivity and social attitudes.

The Gender Data Collective is the first and only student-founded and student-led undergraduate research collective centering gender studies at GW. They plan to welcome a new cohort of interdisciplinary undergraduate students each fall. Each cohort will design and conduct an original research project focused on gender. Gender & Policy Summer Writing Group

Will you be in town this summer? Need to get some writing or research done? Join our summer writing group!

Each session, we will set our writing goals and develop strategies for how to achieve them, have several hours of quiet writing time, then discuss our progress over a brown bag lunch. We will meet from 9am-1pm every other week from May to August, day of the week TBD based on everyone’s availability. Feel free to join us when you are available, no commitment required. All GW community members working on gender and/or policy issues are welcome!

Research Assistant, Center for Innovations in Community Safety, Georgetown University

CICS is hiring a Research Assistant to help it fulfill its mission to transform police culture.  The RA will support mixed methods research, data collection and analyses, and help draft research protocols and presentations of data analyses. This internship focuses on the operational side of a non-profit and encourages interns to see the value in implementing process and systems to mission oriented work. Using programs like Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Monday.com, the Pro Bono Intern will support with mapping key data points including law firm rankings, regional firms with specific expertise, and updating the team’s law firm network. Ideally based in/around NYC.

The intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by working alongside the team and assisting in legal research and writing, factual investigation, and strategic advocacy to advance our litigation and integrated advocacy. Multimedia Intern, Communications Department, ACLU

The Multimedia intern is an integral member of the team, assisting with production of the ACLU’s in-house podcast as well as videos. Interns will conduct research, draft scripts and paper edits, transcribe and review interview footage, edit videos, assist on shoots and interviews, and participate in brainstorms and meetings.
