Message from Kadie Black

Thank you, WRJ Northeast District, for your past and future support of URJ camps in the Northeast! Camps Eisner, Crane Lake, George, Kutz, and Sci-Tech East are grateful for the strong partnerships we have forged with WRJ sisterhoods and congregational leaders.
Your support of our scholarship program ensures that hundreds of youth throughout the Northeast can experience “a summer that lasts a lifetime.” Last year sisterhoods, congregations, and donors enabled over 350 campers financial support to attend camp.
Additionally, WRJ’s YES Fund supports 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy by providing $10,000 a year for Scholarships for Girls, and has pledged a total of $50,000 to Kutz for their library renovation.
Currently, there are 17 URJ camps throughout North America that serve more than 13,000 campers each summer. By providing financial support and helping recruit future campers, together, we can continue to inspire the next generation of Reform Jewish leaders.
Your support truly is an investment in the future generation.
Toda raba!

Since 2008, the WRJ Northeast District has contributed over $20,000 to URJ camps in the Northeast District.

In that time, North American WRJ has contributed tens of thousands of dollars as well, to provide meaningful summer experiences to the next generation of Jewish leaders.

Additional contributions from WRJ members and sisterhoods help strengthen our camps.

Eisner Camp, Great Barrington, MA

URJ Eisner Camp offers fun, immersive Jewish experiences that empower children, teens, and adults to better themselves, their communities, and the world. Established as a URJ camp in 1958, Eisner Camp is an elective-based, campus-style camp. Campers choose electives on a weekly basis and move between activities individually by grade and unit. While at camp, campers participate in a wide variety of athletic, recreational and creative activities. Eisner welcomes campers entering grades 2-10 for two-, three-, four-, and seven-week sessions, and serves approximately 550 campers a session.

Crane Lake Camp, West Stockbridge, MA

Previously a privately-owned camp, URJ Crane Lake Camp brings deep history and traditions to create a special community. Since joining the cohort of URJ camps in 1998, Crane Lake has become a second home to many. Children from URJ congregations across the Northeast join together each summer to experience the fun and magic of Jewish camping. Campers move from activity to activity in cabin groups, with a set schedule throughout the day. While at camp, campers participate in a wide variety of athletic, recreational and creative activities. Crane Lake welcomes campers entering grades 3-10 for two-, three-, four-, and seven-week sessions, and serves approximately 350 campers a session.

6 Points Sci-Tech Academy East, Byfield, MA

At URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy East, scientific inquiry meets fun! Campers entering grades 5-10 spend two weeks exploring robotics, video game design, environmental science, digital media, and a host of other fun activities in a friendly setting with campers who share similar interests. Throughout their experience, campers explore what Judaism means to them – and how this complements their interests in science and technology. Located just outside of Boston’s science and technology corridor on the campus of the beautiful Governor’s Academy boarding school, 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy East offers all of the advantages of a top-quality educational facility along with access to the best and brightest minds in the Jewish science and technology community. Sci-Tech is more than just a place to learn and have fun – it is a community where campers feel welcomed and at home.

Camp George, Seguin, Ontario

Since 1999 Camp George has served thousands of campers and has played a significant role in strengthening the Reform Jewish movement in Canada. At Camp George, Jewish youth from all over Canada and the United States participate in a unique camping experience that blends the best of Reform camping with the historic traditions of Ontario camping. Within this community, participants forge life-long friendships and experience a truly transformative Jewish experience. Camp George offers campers, ranging in age from 7-16, opportunities to learn new skills, meet new friends, and develop their own Jewish identity. Camp offers a wide array of activities that focus on recreation, fun, cooperation, and skill building. Our creative arts program, magnificent waterfront, state-of-the-art Ropes Challenge Course, and various athletic facilities serve as backdrops for teaching, creating, growing, and exploring – allowing us to meet the needs of every camper. A summer at Camp George is a summer like none other!

Kutz Camp, Warwick, NY

For 53 years, Kutz has been home to tens of thousands of teen leaders who have gone on to become leaders in the Jewish and secular world. Kutz Camp will offer five immersives as part of their last summer: Action and Advocacy, Social Entrepreneurship, Songleading, Torah Corps, and the NFTY Incubator. Kutz Camp offers teens from around the world a welcoming and engaging 29-day summer experience in an environment that celebrates each individual, provides deep learning and leadership development, creates the opportunity for reciprocal learning between teens and adults, and celebrates Judaism with passion and joy.
