Indigenous Peoples Day celebration at UNT
   NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH   
November is National Native American Heritage Month, and the university honors the traditions, history and achievements made by Indigenous people. Learn more about Native American organizations on campus, and check out this North Texan article featuring Amanda Cobb-Greetham, award-winning Chickasaw professor and alumna. 
The UNT CoLab is celebrating with an opening reception for its latest gallery exhibition, Collective Wisdom, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3. The traveling show presents work from more than 20 First American artists and will be on display for the public to enjoy through Saturday, Nov. 25.
The celebration continues as all UNT Dining Halls host Native American Heritage Month lunch. Each one will feature a special menu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

   SHOWCASE YOUR CREATIVITY   
Calling all creatives! The North Texas Review team is looking for undergraduate students who are passionate about poetry, art, photography, creative writing or music. 
If you have pieces that you’re proud of, send your submissions by Friday, Nov. 17, for a chance to be featured in the 2023-24 student publication.

Getting ready to graduate soon? Plan the perfect photo op with UNT as your backdrop! Scope out the most photogenic spots on campus to make your portraits unforgettable. From signage and sculptures to natural beauty spots, these areas deserve a look even if you aren't ready to have a grad photoshoot yet.
The interactive HUB map also has resources like campus dining locations, computer labs, health care facilities, tutoring centers and other helpful student services. Explore the site for an in-depth visual tour of the Denton campus.

   ANNUAL DINING SURVEY   
UNT Dining Services needs your help to improve your on-campus dining experience. Fill out the Annual Dining Survey using the unique code that was sent to your UNT email Oct. 16-18, and repeat for different dining venues for more chances to win the $100 flex prizes.
Follow Dining Services on X and Instagram as they announce the winners. The survey runs through Wednesday, Nov. 22, and drawings for dining prizes happen weekly, so the sooner you review a location, the greater your chance to win!

Speaking of surveys, have you taken the UNT Weekly Reader Survey yet? If not, take a few minutes to let us know what you think of UNT Weekly content and ways to improve it. (If you have completed it already, no need to submit it again – thank you for your response!)
The survey closes Monday, Nov. 6, and respondents who opt into the drawing at the end of the survey will be entered to win a UNT T-shirt for their time. Your survey responses will help us make your reading experience even better!

   EXHIBIT YOUR ARTWORK   
If you’ve always wanted to display your work at the Union Art Gallery, now is your chance. Submit a solo or group proposal by Monday, Nov. 13, to see if you can land a spot in the Spring and Summer 2024 exhibitions. If selected, your show will have a free catered reception, installation photographs, printed artwork labels and more. You don’t want to pass up this impressive opportunity!
Check out the reception for the latest exhibition, Whimsies and Wastelands, at 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 2, to see what your opening night could look like.

   CONNECT WITH THE COMMUNITY   
Immerse yourself in service-learning projects that bring social issues to the forefront of the community. Apply for UNT’s Alternative Breaks program by Monday, Nov. 6, for the weeklong spring experience from March 9-15, 2024. Create lifelong connections as you work with other UNT students in this group service program!
If accepted, distant experience participants will make a deposit of $100, then another $200 to cover transportation, lodging and food on travel days. Local experience participants will make a one-time payment of $150.

Basketball is back! Cheer on our women’s team as they face UNT Dallas at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at The Super Pit. Then bring that energy to the men’s game against Northern Iowa at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, also at The Super Pit. Take a look at the men’s schedule and women’s schedule for this season. 
After the nail-biting Homecoming game, UNT football returns to DATCU Stadium, taking on UTSA at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4. Claim your free student tickets now for all home games. Go Mean Green!
