New Headquarters Grand Opening!
Halloween was all treats and no tricks at our new headquarters, as we welcomed the public to an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.  Board President Stephanie Katz, Maryland Delegate Vaughn Stewart, and CEO Chrissy Shawver officially opened the new space (l-r, above), accompanied by several Board members.
Our staff was on hand to offer tours of the new, fully accessible space and to mingle and answer questions over light refreshments. It was an exciting day and marked our new energy moving forward with a new mission, new goals, and new momentum. We connect people of all ages and abilities to their communities, and we enjoyed connecting with many of you at the Open House!

Disabilities Shouldn't Define Individuals
Meet the Pearce family-part of our KFICCC community and longtime supporters of The Arc. Catherine Valcourt-Pearce recently wrote an article for Parenting Special Needs magazine, and we'd like to share it with you. Her message that awareness and dialogue promote acceptance, and that kindness can be taught, rings true to us.  Click here to read the article.
Toddler BOOgie was a Treat
KFICCC's annual Toddler BOOgie was a hit again this year!  The non-scary Halloween themed fundraiser brought in lots of families-in fabulous costumes-for a night of games, crafts, raffle prizes, and, of course, some fabulous BOOgie dance moves!  Thank you to all of the families that came out for the party, and all of the volunteers and parents who planned and staffed the fundraiser.  The community effort made this a (non)scary good time!
