Susan Campbell, STEARNS CENTER
Susan Campbell has held many roles (i.e., instructional designer, instructional technologist, training manager, and trainer) in her time here at Mason. At the present date, she serves as a
Learning Technologies Analyst on the
Stearns Center's Digital Learning Team.
Susan is the ATI's Inaugural 2020 Digital Accessibility Champion because of her tireless efforts and dedication toward the integration of digital accessibility into the university's online course development process at Mason.
Susan was a critical part of the ATI's effort to create a process that would make it easy for faculty members to provide captioning and transcription for course videos. Equally, she assisted in developing a workflow that provides faculty members with support for the creation of accessibe instructional documents (i.e., Word, PPT, and PDF).
Her work on these initiatives over the years has aided the ATI Office with providing captions, transcripts, and audio descriptions for over 15,000 instructional videos and remediating over 2,500 instructional documents for Mason faculty and staff. This is more than any other higher education institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Thank you Susan for everything you have done
to promote digital accessibility and inclusion at Mason!
