Dear Industry professional,
I hope everyone is staying safe during the pandemic. With some nations successfully getting the pandemic under control and some less so, our thoughts are with everyone affected or suffering during these trying times.
As part of ATMIAs response to the pandemic, ATMIA conducted a wide global survey to determine the most pressing challenges and key areas for reform during and after the pandemic. As a result, earlier this month ATMIA launched the ATM & Cash Revival Plan & Beyond. The advocacy plan has two prongs, a Cash Revival Plan and an ATM Revival Plan and already, action has started on several of these plans and members will be continually updated as more details emerge.
This pandemic has forced industry players to adapt and introduce new practices to ensure consumer confidence in their study. This includes the introduction of UV sanitization of currency, by CIT and deployers, the regular wiping down and disinfectant of ATM machine surfaces, introducing cardless transactions at ATMs and providing hand sanitizer with machines. At all times, everyone is reminded to practice good hygiene and to keep physical distance from one another.

Exciting news awaits, somewhere in the world, sometime between Q3 and Q4 of 2020, the world’s first certified Next Gen ATM is likely to be installed and ATMIA will be there to celebrate with the ATM operator and vendor who achieves this world-first. Within months, we will cross the finishing line together in this multi-year future-proofing project. From the beginning, it was a blueprint by the industry, for the industry, to create a globally interoperable API App model for ATMs. To read more click here A reminder to all industry stakeholders, ATMIAs 20% discount off conference registrations is still available.
