Staff Performance Evaluations: What to do in March
|
The annual performance evaluation period for staff is April 1 through May 31, and serves as a time for managers to discuss and document performance feedback with their employees. During March, there are a couple of things managers can do to prepare for the evaluation: 1) review and update employee position descriptions as appropriate, and 2) attend a Workday Awareness Session: Performance Review. The awareness sessions will cover key changes, the overall process, timeline and available resources. This is a great opportunity to learn and prepare for a successful performance discussion before the evaluation period starts.

Model My Pay Feature in Workday |
The new Model My Pay feature in Workday allows you to view an estimate of your pay after applying hypothetical changes to your earnings, deductions and taxes. You can make adjustments then view how the changes would affect your paycheck. Access the new feature from your Workday home page by selecting the ‘Pay’ application from the main menu. Watch the “Model My Pay “ overview video to learn more.

Workday is a cloud-based software used to manage human resources, payroll, benefits and employee data. If you are new to using Workday, or simply need a refresher, we encourage you to participate in an online training course and review common tasks for employees and managers.

New Employees Workday Onboarding Tasks |
Newly hired employees – including student workers – must complete their onboarding tasks in Workday before making any changes to their information. Onboarding tasks are released sequentially by groups so, completing the first group forces the next appropriate group to release.
Timely completion of tasks in sequential order is important as these tasks collect social security numbers, tax information and direct deposit details needed for payroll. Please reference the new employee onboarding job guide for Workday step-by-step instructions.
