Mike Emerson's Southernmost Brass Band

September 13th at 7:00pm 

Southernmost Brass is a seven piece horn band formed by guitarist/vocalist Mike Emerson that performs a wide variety of music styles, all featuring the sound of a powerful horn section. From the big band jazz sounds of swing (ie, Ellington, Basie, Sinatra,), the foot tapping jump jive songs (ie, Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, Brian Setzer), classic R&B/funk/Motown/rock (ie, Chicago, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Temptations, Stevie Wonder), bossa nova/salsa/mambo latin sounds (ie, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chuck Mangione), to the blues (ie, Blues Brothers, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn), they all utilize the horn arrangements that are a key part of the sound of those musical styles.

Thursday, Sept. 18th - Sunday Sept. 21st

It's that time of year again and we are official stop #4 of The 2014 Phil Peterson's Key West Poker Run. The 100 mile motorcycle ride from Miami to Key West is the best poker game on wheels! Once a year the Poker run riders makes five stops along The Overseas Highway. Participants draw a Poker Run card at each location and compete against one another at the finish with the best hand taking top honors. The highway has repeatedly been voted one of our country’s most scenic with clear blue water on both sides and over 40 bridges adding breathtaking views to the camaraderie of the Poker Run.

Southernmost Brass has such an extensive variety of material that we had to double down. Southernmost Brass proudly features the collaboration of some of the top quality musicians from throughout the keys. They can perform instrumentally or vocally in specific styles, or can mix all of the styles for a musical blend that will cater to lovers of all the classic horn band sounds for both listening and dancing.
