Tallahassee-Leon County Economy Outpaces State and Nation in GDP Growth

Newly released data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) shows that the Tallahassee-Leon County Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) recorded strong economic growth in 2024, outperforming both the State of Florida and the nation.
According to the BEA, Real (inflation-adjusted) Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the Tallahassee-Leon County MSA reached $21.3 billion in 2024, an increase of 4.3 percent from $20.4 billion in 2023. By comparison, Florida's Real GDP grew by 3.3 percent, while U.S. Real GDP increased by 2.8 percent over the same period.

Direct Connect Construction Industry Networking Event

Direct Connect is the premier construction networking event, bringing vendors face-to-face with general contractors and public agencies actively seeking partners. Held February 27, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Jim Moran Institute, the evening will begin with a brief program followed by structured networking designed to facilitate meaningful one-on-one conversations. General contractors, representatives from Leon County Schools, the Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency, and other public and private entities pursuing minority participation will share overviews of upcoming regional projects and outline the specific trades and vendors they are looking to engage. Attending businesses are encouraged to come prepared to discuss their expertise, capacity, certifications, and to provide references or portfolios that showcase their work.
