SCHOOL NOTES FROM THE FRONT OFFICE
CONGRATULATIONS to First Grade on raising $3,500 for Type One Diabetes research during their walk last Saturday!
CONGRATULATIONS to the Relay Raiders with 8th grade captain, Nora Doyle, for raising $1,794 at the Relay for Life at Father Ryan.
CONGRATULATIONS to Gabrielle (6th) and Grant (4th) Tiburcio who will be performing tonight at 7:00p and Saturday at 8:00p at TPAC for the Nashville Opera production of Tosca. They will be singing in Italian and portraying altar servers. Click here to learn more! 
HURRICANE RELIEF: Our students rasied $2,640 for hurricane relief with our three collections aimed at assisting Catholic schools affected by hurricanes last month.
WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST BABY RAIDER! John Chesley Lybarger, new baby brother of Ava Belle-1st grade, and Jo-PreK, was born to Nathan, CKS Class of 1996, and Elizabeth Lybarger on October 3, 2017, weighing 9.1 lbs and 21 inches long. Congratulations!
FALL BREAK 2018: For families who make reservations a year in advance for fall break, next year's fall break dates are October 8-12, 2018. The first day of school will be August 13, 2018.

GRANNIS PHOTOGRAPHY SCHOOL PICTURES: Leila Grossman, Grannis Photography, is in the process of sending out individual emails with proofs for ordering from your student's picture day. Please let Mrs. Jeanette Neuhoff Vogt know if you don't receive an email in the next few days, and be on the lookout for the email from Grannis Photography in case it goes to your spam folder. 
Football and Cheerleading photos will be available soon as well. Mrs. Vogt (jeanette.vogt@cks-nashville.org) will be sending a link to share with football and cheerleading coaches, and Coach Vance, so that orders can be placed.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: Pick-A-Time is now open for signing up for Parent/Teacher Conferences for Sunday, October 22nd. Please note if your student is running cross country and due to the revised timeline that day, that you might want to sign up for an early morning or late afternoon appointment, or request a phone conference.

FORENSICS NEWS: We had 4 entrants in the 7th/8th Forensics Tournament at SBA last weekend. Joey Maffei, Humorous Interpretation, 2nd place; Grace Darke and Grace Holland, Duet Acting, 1st place; Gussie Miller and Kate Miller, Duet Acting, 2nd place. Congratulations to all of our participants!
CROSS COUNTRY UPDATE: A cool breeze greeted the Running Raiders this past Sunday at the Dominican Campus - a good ten degrees cooler than their first effort on this pitch, but the running was smoking hot!
The 7th and 8th graders led the way with Isabella Guillamondegui (PREP) placing 4th and Ellie Bryan locking up 9th place. Aidan Nix took 2nd for the boys. The race moved back to the regular order with the Kindergarteners, where Josephine Ness came in 3rd in the combined boys/girls race. Thomas Casey came in right behind in 9th place. Lila Thigpen took 4th for the girls in the 1st/2nd girls race while Carson Dunn took 7th for the boys. Eleonore Ness took 6th place for the 3rd/4th girls while Gabe Guillamondegui (PREP) and Sam Halloran battled to the finish line to finish 7th and 8th respectively for the 3rd/4th boys race. The last race of the day, 5th/6th boys saw some sterling racing as Ryan Jones repeated his 1st place finish with Sean Meffe seconds behind in 4th place.
Our ten most improved times this week were: Lizzie Formosa (K) -3:44; Michael Sechrist (1st) -2:12; Jillian Manno (4th) -1:48: Grace Darke (7th) -1:36; Susanna Donnelly (8th) -1:35; Isabella Gavigan (6th) -1:34; Josephine Ness (K) -1:28; Joshua Purinton (K) -1:26; Caroline Meyer (6th) -1:26; Jake Gerth (1st) -1:17; Olivia Stany (3rd) -1:11. 
In all, it was a terrific day. The Cross Country Team will race again this coming Sunday, October 8th, then will be off for a week to make final preparations for Championship Sunday on October 22nd.

CAMP MARYMOUNT: 2018 Camp Registration opens early this year! Next Wednesday, October 11, at 12:00p central time, they will open for registration. Go to the website and click on "apply now" under the summer camp tab to register your camper. Click here! Dates are posted on the website under "dates and rates" however tuition will be posted by weeks end. NEW THIS YEAR: Boy and Girl campers can register for more than 1 session at a time. Girls two AND three weeks for a 5-week experience and boys one AND two weeks for a 3-week experience. NEW CAMPERS will be confirmed on Nov. 11 with any available openings. This allows the returning campers and siblings to get registered. NEW CAMPERS should still register as soon as possible as they are cleared in order of registration date. DANCE WITH PRIDE! Father Ryan's Dance Company is hosting its annual Perform with Pride event at the school's October 20th football game at Father Ryan for all interested grade schoolers. The event begins with rehearsal at 3:30p, followed by dinner, then the performance on the field at halftime. Cost is $40. Register at www.fatherryan.org/performwithpride.
MARCH WITH THE BAND AT JR. IRISH BAND NIGHT: Father Ryan's Marching Band is welcoming any 7th and 8th grade band student, or guard member, in the area to march with the band at Father Ryan's October 20th football game. The evening will include rehearsal, dinner, T-shirt and begins at 4:00p. There is no charge. Register online at www.fatherryan.org/jririshbandnight.

CATHOLIC BUSINESS LEAGUE BREAKFAST MEETING OCTOBER 12TH - Sean Henry will be the speaker at the Catholic Business League's October Breakfast meeting. Henry, the CEO and President of the Nashville Predators, helped make the Predators' memorable Stanley Cup a national event for the team and Nashville. The meeting begins with Mass at 7am at the Cathedral, followed by the breakfast meeting and program at 7:30a in the Fleming Center. Event sponsor is Pancoast Benefits.
