For transgender people, finding a voice that fits their identity can be the final obstacle to representing their true selves. At the GW Speech and Hearing Center, students work with faculty to guide clients to a new voice—and a new outlook on life.

Not all pulsars rocketing through space are alike, with some emitting radio waves, others gamma rays and still others both. Using NASA images light years from earth, a team of researchers including PhysicsNoel Klingler may have discovered why some stars shine with different lights.

Jennifer Curt battled alcoholism and depression on her way to a sober life. Now, as an advocate with the peer-to-peer support group Students for Recovery, the CCAS senior is sharing her story and helping others cope with their own struggles.
Thomas Leblanc speaks to GW students and staff
Thomas J. LeBlanc, an accomplished academic leader, administrator and professor, begins his tenure as the 17th GW president in August 2017. In a video address, he described leading the university as a great honor, a challenge and "an incredibly exciting adventure."

Radio sparked a passion in Darren Davis, BA ’95, even as a student DJ penning papers for his journalism class while spinning late night records. Today, he heads iHeartMedia, a mutli-media platform company with 270 million listeners, and continues to support his alma mater. 
Students celebrate the lunar new year
Columbian College’s Confucius Institute recently co-hosted an enthusiastic and diverse crowd of faculty and students to ring in the Lunar New Year and celebrate the Year of the Rooster. The annual event highlighted GW’s commitment to global outreach and cultural exchange.
