Fireworks by UNT's clock tower
   HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year, Eagles! As 2025 begins, we are excited for all the opportunities, growth and memories this year will bring.
Classes begin on Monday, Jan. 13, and Week of Welcome tents will be on campus during the first two days to answer questions and provide directions. On Wednesday, Jan. 15, head to the Library Mall from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the Back to School Bash. It is a great chance to connect with UNT departments, get helpful resources and start the semester on a high note. If the weather is bad, the event will relocate to University Union Room 333.
Make sure to review the Spring 2025 academic calendar to stay on top of important dates.

Discovery Park drone facility
   SCRAPPY'S TRIVIA
Can you guess how tall UNT’s Discovery Park drone test facility is?
If you’ve visited Discovery Park recently, you might have seen the Advanced Air Mobility test facility from afar, marked by a black net visible from North Loop 288. This space opened in Spring 2024 and is working to advance drone technology. Discovery Park, the largest research park in the North Texas region and home to some of UNT’s most innovative work, turns 21 next Wednesday, celebrating over two decades as a hub for the College of Engineering and College of Information!
Send an email with the correct answer to be entered into a random drawing for a UNT T-shirt. The answer will be revealed in a future UNT Weekly issue, so stay tuned.
   NEW PARKING VENDOR

Here are the Spring 2025 rates:
  • The transaction fee is 35 cents.
  • Hourly rates are $2.25 in regular lots, and $3.75 for spaces in “A” parking lots.
