New Project - Reduction of Maternal Hemorrhage

TIPQC will launch this new project on September 24th. This project will focus on improving the care and outcomes for pregnant and postpartum women who suffer from an obstetrical hemorrhage by utilizing a postpartum hemorrhage risk assessment and measuring blood loss cumulatively and quantitatively. Every hospital in TN is encouraged to join – as we look to reduce the highest cause of Severe Maternal Morbidity (SMM) in the state. To learn more, join an Infomercial on July 22nd at 1pm CT/2pm ET.

Cardiac Conditions in OB Care Spotlight

A WSMV-TV story highlights a new National Academics of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine study on cardiovascular health in pregnant and postpartum women. The study outlines clearer blood pressure thresholds, gaps in clinician training, and barriers to preventative care that affect heart health before, during, and after pregnancy. Dr. Connie Graves contributed to the study and emphasized the need for greater awareness of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and their long-term impact on women's heart health.

National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (NNPQC)

The NNPQC Meeting was held on May 13-15 with TIPQC sharing in two workshops as well as a poster. Drs. Courtney Gutman and Patti Scott highlighted the Tennessee Tiniest Babies Project and Brenda Barker and Anastacia Volz discussed Strategies for Sharing Your Message. The meeting held opportunities for sharing, learning, and collaboration.
