Running Mamas training programs include:

  • 8-10 weeks of weekly coached training runs
  • Weekly training plan emails & guidance (1-3 additional runs/week completed on your own).  Training plans are tailored for your ability level-- beginners welcome for 5k training!
  • Personalized training plans and one-on-one coaching throughout the program.  
  • Weekly educational "clinics" on running form, injury prevention, increasing speed & distance, and choosing the right shoes
  • Pre-run sessions on Strength Training for Runners, Core Workouts for Runners, and more
  • Private online group for motivation and discussion with your fellow Running Mamas throughout the week
  • Exclusive discounts on sneakers at Omega Sport
  • Supportive atmosphere with other moms working towards the same goal 

Strollers are welcome (but optional) during our training runs. 
Dads are welcome too; please contact us about a discounted couples rate if Dad would like to participate throughout the program.

10k Training
Sessions are designed to help you go from running about 2 miles (or 15-20 minutes) at a time, to running a full 10k (6.2 miles), in just over 2 months time.  Advanced training also available for experienced runners looking to improve their race time or set a personal record on race day.

Season 1:
Mar 8 - May 16; Suggested Race Goal:  NCRC Classic 10k May 17, or Spring 10k of your choice
Training schedule:  Sundays, 5pm, Apex Community Park (aka 'Lake Pine'; 2200 Laura Duncan Rd). Optional additional group session  Tuesdays 9:30am

Season 2:
April 19 - June 24; Suggested Race Goal:  Espirit de She 10k June 25, or Summer 10k of your choice
Training schedule:  Sundays, 5pm, Apex Community Park (aka 'Lake Pine'; 2200 Laura Duncan Rd).  Optional additional group session Wednesdays 6pm

10K Pricing:  $85 for 10 week program ($65 for active Stroller Strides members, $55 for Running Mama alumni). Race fees additional.  Optional Team jerseys available for $20. 
5k Training
Sessions are designed to help you go from little to no running, to comfortably running a full 5k (3.1 miles), in 8 weeks time.  Intermediate & advanced training also available for experienced runners looking to improve their race time and set a personal record on race day.

Season 1:
Mar 1 - Apr 25; Suggested Race Goal: Cary Run to Remember 5k April 26, or Spring 5k of your choice
Training schedule:  Sundays, 5pm,  Apex Community Park (aka 'Lake Pine'; 2200 Laura Duncan Rd).  Optional additional group session  Tuesdays 9:30am

Season 2:
May 3 - June 24; Suggested Race Goal:  Espirit de She 5k June 25, or Summer 5k of your choice
Location 1: Apex Community Park
Training schedule:  Sundays, 5pmApex Community Park (aka 'Lake Pine'; 2200 Laura Duncan Rd).  Optional additional group session Wednesdays 6pm
New Location for Durham Area Moms! 
Location 2:  Herndon Park, American Tobacco Trail
Training schedule:  Sundays, 5pmHerndon Park (511 Scott King Rd, Durham).                                               Optional additional group session Wednesdays 6pm

5K Pricing:  $75 for 8 week program ($55 for active Stroller Strides members, $45 for Running Mama alumni).  Race fees additional.  Optional Team jerseys available for $20.
