5k Training
Sessions are designed to help you go from little to no running, to comfortably running a full 5k (3.1 miles), in 8 weeks time. Intermediate & advanced training also available for experienced runners looking to improve their race time and set a personal record on race day.
Season 1:
Mar 1 - Apr 25; Suggested Race Goal: Cary Run to Remember 5k April 26, or Spring 5k of your choice
Training schedule: Sundays, 5pm, Apex Community Park (aka 'Lake Pine'; 2200 Laura Duncan Rd). Optional additional group session Tuesdays 9:30am
Season 2:
May 3 - June 24; Suggested Race Goal: Espirit de She 5k June 25, or Summer 5k of your choice
Location 1: Apex Community Park
Training schedule: Sundays, 5pm, Apex Community Park (aka 'Lake Pine'; 2200 Laura Duncan Rd). Optional additional group session Wednesdays 6pm
New Location for Durham Area Moms!
Location 2: Herndon Park, American Tobacco Trail
Training schedule: Sundays, 5pm, Herndon Park (511 Scott King Rd, Durham). Optional additional group session Wednesdays 6pm
5K Pricing: $75 for 8 week program ($55 for active Stroller Strides members, $45 for Running Mama alumni). Race fees additional. Optional Team jerseys available for $20.
