Wheat Ridge in Washington D.C. Meeting with Federal Legislators

City Manager Patrick Goff, Mayor Pro Tem Korey Stites, and City Councilmembers Rachel Hultin and Dan Larson recently went to meet with our federally elected legislators at the National Legue of Cities Conference in Washington D.C.

During the conference our councilmembers brought national attention to our local issues like the migrant crisis, affordable housing, and our need for snow removal equipment. In years past, we were able to secure $4 million dollars for the Wadsworth improvements and $2 million dollars for affordable housing.

Our Wheat Ridge team was joined by municipalities across the state including friends from Lakewood, Evergreen, Arvada, and Golden to meet with Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen, Senator John Hickenlooper, and Senator Michael Bennett.

Wadsworth Construction Update

The Wadsworth Improvement Project recently completed over 90 percent of the concrete paving planned between I-70 and 41st Avenue. Work continues on the retaining wall system near Johnson Park.

The intersection of 38th Avenue and Wadsworth is a project priority. Surface improvements, including concrete paving, will continue this month. Construction may impact how access is configured so drivers are asked to note signage, traffic control devices, and crew instructions when flaggers are present.

Subscribe to receive traffic alerts on the city's website and find updates on What's Up Wheat Ridge. Any community concerns may be directed to the project hotline at 303-390-0878 or email the project team at WadsworthProject@ci.wheatridge.co.us.
